Namwon-si Wins Silver Award in Environmental Campaign Best Practice Contest
Namwon City in Jeonbuk Province announced on the 16th that the Namwon City Out-of-School Youth Support Center (Director Jeong Il-shin), operated by the nonprofit organization CYA (Chairman Jeong Jin-hae) under consignment from Namwon City, won the silver prize in the ‘2023 Outstanding Activity Cases Contest for Out-of-School Youth Environmental Campaigns.’
Hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and organized by the Korea Youth Counseling & Welfare Institute, this environmental campaign outstanding activity contest saw participation from youth institutions across cities, counties, and districts nationwide.
The contest was divided into photo and video categories, and the Namwon City Out-of-School Youth Support Center achieved the great feat of winning the silver prize in the video category.

Youth participants Kim Yesul and Jeong Dahyeon, who took part in the environmental campaign, said, “Participating in the environmental campaign contest was a valuable time to rethink the importance of the environment,” and added, “We will continue to make efforts in our daily lives to protect the environment.”
Jeong Il-shin, Director of the Namwon City Out-of-School Youth Support Center, said, “Through this environmental campaign contest, out-of-school youth seem to have gained an opportunity to grow healthily as members of society,” and added, “It must have been a valuable experience to realize the importance of the environment and to strive to live together harmoniously.”
The Namwon City Out-of-School Youth Support Center provides tailored services such as counseling support, educational support, employment support, and independence support for out-of-school youth aged 9 to 24.
