Busan Health College Department of Physical Therapy Participates in 'Scoliosis' Events Across Europe
The Department of Physical Therapy at Busan Health College participated in scoliosis-related camps, academic conferences, and company visits across Europe.
Students, master's degree candidates in specialized technology, and supervising professors from the Department of Physical Therapy at Busan Health College took part in a scoliosis camp at the Skolioskan Clinic located in Poznan, Poland, from July 1 to 10, 2023, as part of the 2023 academic year Innovation Support Project's Global Major Competency Enhancement Program.
During this camp, participants experienced evaluation, treatment, group exercise therapy, and individual therapy related to scoliosis. Additionally, they studied the on-site medical system involving multidisciplinary collaboration among doctors, therapists, nurses, and assistant technicians at the Ortopedyczno Rehabilitation Hospital, renowned for European rehabilitation therapy.
At the Ortotomas orthotic company visit, participants experienced the production process of orthoses used for scoliosis and prosthetic limbs, methods of application to patients, and educational procedures, gaining insights into various clinical effects.
The Department of Physical Therapy at Busan Health College has signed a business agreement with Poland through the Meister University pilot project for the master's program and holds an international academic forum annually, conducting programs to strengthen global major competencies.

View original imageProfessors Park Han-gyu and Yoon Sung-young from Busan Health College participated for the first time in Korea in the ‘SEAS Level 2 Course’ organized by the Italian Scoliosis Association ISICO, held in Novi Sad, Serbia, from July 11 to 13, and completed the SEAS Advanced Accreditation (SAA).
At the academic conference of the Italian Scoliosis Association, two cases presented by Busan Health College were selected and presented, achieving notable success. Among 26 submitted cases, 12 were selected as representative cases.
Professor Park Han-gyu, who led the students, said, “While obtaining certification is important, this opportunity helped us refine our skills, character, and the true attitude of a physical therapist who prioritizes patients first. I am proud to have shared this experience with Busan Health College students.”
He added, “The Department of Physical Therapy at Busan Health College is making its best efforts to train more specialized healthcare personnel through the Innovation Support Project and LINC 3.0 Project, and is expanding the curriculum to include bachelor's degree acquisition as an advanced major course.”

Busan Health College's Department of Physical Therapy, which operates the nation's first Meister University specialized master's program, currently has 12 master's students enrolled in its specialized curriculum.
