Gwangyang City Wins Excellence Award in Content Category at 'Tourism Expo'
‘Day and Night Shine in Gwangyang Travel’ Slogan Emotional Marketing Unfolds
Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that it won the Excellence Award in the content category at the 8th Korea International Tourism Expo, actively conducting emotional marketing under the slogan "Gwangyang Travel Shining Day and Night."
The city attended the expo held for four days from the 11th at KINTEX in Ilsan and received the honor of winning the award, being recognized for showcasing creative marketing techniques based on fresh and excellent content.
At this expo, which gathered the present and future of Korean tourism in one place, the city branded the value and vision of Gwangyang tourism by enhancing the image of the tourist city for domestic and international tourists.
The city screened promotional videos of Gwangyang tourism and held various events that attracted visitors' interest, promoting the charm of Gwangyang tourism from multiple angles, including night view spots and hidden tourist attractions.
Additionally, processed foods using Gwangyang specialties such as plum concentrate, plum blossom bread, seaweed chips, and organic plum blossom cosmetics were showcased, providing opportunities to taste Gwangyang, which received great responses.
In particular, Jeollanam-do, Gwangyang City, and 11 other cities and counties jointly set up a promotional booth, maximizing synergy by linking the beautiful scenery and flavors of the southern region.
Furthermore, efforts were made to share rapidly changing tourism trends such as smart tourism, local tourism, and ChatGPT, and to strengthen mutual cooperation and networks for tourism revitalization.
Jung Gu-young, head of the Tourism Division, said, "Since tourism content is an important element of sustainable tourism, we consider it meaningful to have won the Excellence Award in the content category with excellent content and innovative marketing."
He added, "This tourism expo, the first participation since the endemic phase, was very helpful in setting the direction toward sustainable Gwangyang tourism by sharing information with other local governments and institutions and meeting potential tourists directly. We will come up with various marketing plans to ensure that potential tourists turn into actual visitors."
