Mapo-gu "Embracing Culture and Leisure"... Construction of Mixed-Use Residential Complex
Approval of Project Implementation Plan for 38-Story Mixed-Use Residential Building at Hapjeong Station Area ‘Hapjeong 7 District’ in 2027
Establishment of a Complex Cultural Welfare Facility for Pregnant Women, Infants, Seniors, Youth, and Disabled through Donation from Basement Level 3 to 8th Floor Planned
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) announced the approval of the project implementation plan for the Hapjeong 7 District urban maintenance-type redevelopment project on the 10th.
Hapjeong 7 District is located at 381-49 Hapjeong-dong, within 100 meters of Hapjeong Station on Subway Lines 2 and 6, making it a prime ultra-station area. It is a popular area in Mapo where culture and leisure can be enjoyed simultaneously in the city, with the youthful and passionate Hongdae Red Road and Mangwon Hangang Park just a 10-minute walk away.
This project implementation plan approval marks the first such approval in about 13 years since the approval of Hapjeong 2 District (Hapjeong Prugio 2nd Apartment), an urban maintenance-type redevelopment project within the Hapjeong Redevelopment Promotion District in 2010.
The plan includes a mixed-use residential building with 7 basement levels and 38 floors above ground. It will house a total of 209 residential units, including 36 public housing units, 89 officetel units, and neighborhood living facilities, with a total floor area of approximately 42,325 square meters. Additionally, a complex cultural welfare facility, donated from basement level 3 to the 8th floor, is also included in the plan.
The complex cultural welfare facility will be a standalone building separate from the mixed-use residential building, designed to provide integrated welfare services such as health management for pregnant women and infants, youth learning support, senior care and leisure, and independence support for the disabled.
The space from the 1st to 4th floors will house the ‘Sunlight Center’ for health management support for pregnant women and infants; the 5th floor will be ‘Hapjeong Space,’ a learning area for youth; the 6th floor will be a vocational adaptation training center for the disabled; and the 7th to 8th floors will include a senior meal service center and a senior lodging and dining community center.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, stated, “With the approval of the Hapjeong 7 District project implementation plan, the previously stalled development of Districts 5 and 6 within the Hapjeong Redevelopment Promotion District is expected to accelerate, transforming the area into a new urban form centered on proximity between residence and workplace and a core living zone. Especially, the construction of the donated complex cultural welfare center is expected to contribute to birth rates and establish Hapjeong Station area as a key hub where infants, seniors, and the disabled can all live happily together in Mapo.”
