No Major Injuries but Undergoing Treatment for Psychological Shock
An incident occurred in Cebu, Philippines, where a suspect kidnapped the child of a Korean resident by placing the child in a travel bag. After cooperation between the Korean Embassy in the Philippines and local police, the child was safely rescued.
According to local residents on the 11th, an 8-year-old Korean child was kidnapped in a residential area of Cebu the previous day.

Upon discovering the child was missing, the parents checked the closed-circuit television (CCTV) around their home. The CCTV footage clearly showed a man in his 30s placing the child into a large travel bag and moving away. The suspect calmly pushed the travel bag to the parking lot, then got into a prepared vehicle and disappeared.
The victim's father said in an interview with KBS, "The suspect was waiting before the child entered the house," and added, "He pulled the heavy carrier out."
After the news spread, the Korean community shared the kidnapping information and the license plate number of the vehicle used in the crime through social networking services (SNS). They said, "On August 10th around noon, a Korean lady’s daughter was kidnapped. The suspect’s vehicle was identified through CCTV and is being sought," and "Drivers, if you see this vehicle, please contact us."
Upon receiving the report, the Cebu branch of the Korean Embassy in the Philippines immediately cooperated with local police to track the vehicle. As a result, the local police were able to arrest the suspect seven hours after the crime.
An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Yonhap News, "Our embassy closely cooperated with local law enforcement after receiving the report, and the suspect was apprehended on the day of the incident."

Meanwhile, the child was safely rescued but is reported to have been transferred to a hospital for treatment due to psychological shock. Fortunately, there are no serious physical injuries.
