On the morning of the 10th at 9:05 AM, when Typhoon 'Khanun' made its full landfall, a 2-ton class vessel sank at the Jisepo Port mooring in Ilun-myeon, Geoje-si, Gyeongnam.
According to the Changwon Coast Guard, the captain who had tied the ship at Jisepo Port to prevent typhoon damage reported to the coast guard that the vessel had sunk.
The Changwon Coast Guard immediately dispatched a patrol team from a nearby police substation that was on emergency duty to the scene.
When the patrol team arrived at the site, about two-thirds of the vessel was submerged in seawater.
There were no casualties as no one was on board the vessel at the time of the accident.
The coast guard installed oil fences in anticipation of oil leakage from the ship.
The sunken vessel will be lifted onto land using a crane once the effects of the typhoon subside.
