The central pressure was measured at 975 hectopascals (hPa), and the maximum wind speed was 32 m/s.
The Meteorological Administration stated, "Heavy rain of 30 to 60 mm per hour is expected mainly along the east coast, with 10 to 30 mm per hour in other areas," and added, "Very strong winds with maximum instantaneous wind speeds around 25 m/s are expected mainly in Jeju Island and the east coast of Gyeongsang Province."
Heavy rain and strong wind damage are occurring in many places. According to Changwon City on the 10th, at around 8:15 a.m., a manhole cover suddenly popped up beneath bus number 101, which was parked near an apartment in Daewon-dong, Uichang-gu, Changwon.
At that time, there were about 5 to 6 passengers (including the driver) on the bus. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident.
The manhole cover reportedly burst upward with a loud noise from the center underside of the city bus. The sudden rise in rainwater pressure caused the cover to be forced upward.
