BNK Busan Bank Delivers Happiness Scholarship to Foster Local Talent
On the morning of the 10th, BNK Busan Bank held a happiness scholarship award ceremony at its headquarters with the Busan Community Chest of Korea to nurture future local talents.
The 'BNK Happiness Scholarship' is a scholarship program that Busan Bank has been promoting annually since 2007 through the 'BNK Hope Sharing Foundation' to foster local talents and support exemplary students. To date, it has provided a total of over 8 billion KRW in academic encouragement funds to more than 8,400 students.
Busan Bank selected a total of 284 students, including 273 students recommended by 26 universities located in Busan, Gimhae, and Yangsan, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, Busan Immigration Office, local children's centers, and child welfare associations, as well as 11 outstanding students from the Korea Science Academy of KAIST.
This year, the scholarship support amounts to a total of 500 million KRW, with up to 2 million KRW awarded per person.
Since 2020, scholarships have been provided annually until university graduation to students selected through local children's centers and child welfare facilities, considering academic achievement and other factors.
Bang Seong-bin, President of Busan Bank, said, "I hope students continuously challenge themselves toward their goals and grow into outstanding talents who contribute to society," adding, "We will continue to work to eliminate educational disparities between regions and contribute to community development through various educational projects."
