Entering Full Preparedness by Inspecting Vulnerable Facilities Such as Semi-basements and Low-lying Areas
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held an emergency countermeasure meeting on the morning of the 9th to prepare for Typhoon ‘Khanun’.
As Typhoon ‘Khanun’ changes its course and is expected to pass through South Korea, bringing strong winds and heavy rain to the metropolitan area, the meeting aimed to take proactive measures in advance.
The emergency countermeasure meeting was held with the attendance of all department heads, 15 division chiefs, and 15 neighborhood chiefs, reviewing departmental actions and detailed response plans. Safety inspections of facilities such as construction sites, outdoor signboards, heatwave shade shelters, bus stops, and signposts were also thoroughly conducted.
In particular, District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho instructed to strictly conduct ▲inspection of rainwater inlets and drainage channels ▲maintain emergency communication systems ▲strengthen management of disaster-vulnerable households using Donghaeng Partners ▲actively support flood prevention supplies such as pumps and waterproof sheets ▲take emergency measures and respond promptly when risk factors arise ▲manage safety accidents caused by banners, street trees, and signposts, emphasizing thorough surveillance activities in areas expected to be affected.
Additionally, on-site inspections were conducted on vulnerable facilities such as semi-basement houses, flood prevention facilities, landslide-prone areas, and the Han River embankment to actively prepare against typhoon damage. Emergency patrols were carried out to check the operation of water-blocking panels and rainwater pumping stations installed in low-lying areas, as well as landslide-prone areas in Junggok-dong, ensuring perfect readiness for the typhoon.
