Guidelines for Workplace Risk Assessment Compliance

Ajoo Industrial announced on the 9th that it plans to reorganize its safety and health management system to prevent major accidents.

This follows the Ministry of Employment and Labor's revised "Guidelines on Workplace Risk Assessment." The Ministry announced a four-strategy roadmap last November to reduce major accidents and revised the guidelines related to the "Risk Assessment System" in May.

To prevent major accidents, Ajoo Industrial conducted activities such as recognizing excellent workplaces for risk assessment at all business sites, recognizing excellent workplaces for risk assessment of resident partner companies, holding explanatory meetings for workplace risk assessment personnel, and performing voluntary safety inspections related to the establishment and implementation of the safety and health management system.

Ajoo Industrial's nine business sites (Suwon, Byeongjeom, Gwangju, Incheon, Bibong, Sangam, Gwangmyeong, Asan, and Paju) completed recognition as excellent workplaces for risk assessment for sites that met the standards through workplace risk assessments conducted last month. They also plan to recognize small-scale sites such as the Gajwa site handling admixtures and the Gimpo site producing UHPC as excellent workplaces for risk assessment.

Support will also be provided for resident partner companies to receive recognition as excellent workplaces. In particular, Ajoo Industrial's Asan site completed recognition as the first in the region for resident partner companies, with five companies recognized as excellent workplaces for subcontractor risk assessment. Going forward, support will be expanded to help resident partner companies at other business sites receive recognition as excellent workplaces for risk assessment.

Last month, a safety education expert instructor from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency was invited to hold an explanatory meeting for risk assessment personnel at the business sites. Over the past year and a half, voluntary safety inspections on the establishment and implementation of the safety and health management system were also conducted through external professional organizations involving dedicated teams and business sites.

An Ajoo Industrial official stated, "To prevent major accidents, we plan to identify and improve hazardous and risky factors in advance and establish a practical safety culture."
