Experience 'Bangudae·Cheonjeon-ri' with Your Whole Body

Open to the Public on the 11th at the Immersive Video Room

An immersive video experience taking you back to the prehistoric Ulsan ‘Bangudaecheon’ is coming.

The Ulsan Museum (Director Jo Gyuseong) announced on the 9th that it will open the immersive video ‘Petroglyphs of Bangudaecheon,’ which allows viewers to digitally appreciate the natural heritage and cultural value of the Bangudaecheon area in Ulju, to the public on the 11th.

‘Petroglyphs of Bangudaecheon’ is an 18-minute immersive video that fills all four walls of the video room, utilizing various images and patterns of the Ulju Cheonjeon-ri Petroglyphs and Ulju Daegok-ri Bangudae Petroglyphs, both currently designated as national treasures.

Upon entering the immersive video room, visitors can fantastically and vividly experience the beautiful natural scenery of the Ulju Bangudaecheon area from a bird’s-eye view, along with animal drawings and patterns engraved on the petroglyphs. There is also an ‘interactive’ petroglyph pattern experience where the video responds to the visitor’s movements.

Additionally, a large multi-vision screen has been installed in the museum lobby, where visitors can scan petroglyph patterns they have personally colored and create their own imagined Bangudaecheon in the ‘My Own Petroglyph Pattern Coloring Experience’ live sketch zone.

The immersive video room is free to use and screenings are held every hour on the hour and at 20-minute intervals. Each session allows entry for up to 20 people on a first-come, first-served basis.

A Ulsan Museum official stated, “The ‘Petroglyphs of Bangudaecheon’ brought to life through cutting-edge digital technology combined with cultural heritage will offer visitors a new way to appreciate the petroglyphs.”

The immersive video room was established after being selected last year in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s ‘Immersive Content Production and Experience Area Development Support’ public contest.
