Arrest Warrant Issued for Suspect in His 20s in Bundang Stabbing Incident

At around 3 p.m. that day, Im Hye-won, the chief judge in charge of warrants at the Suwon District Court Seongnam Branch, held a pre-arrest detention hearing for the suspect, Choi Mo (22), and made this decision. Judge Im explained the reason for issuing the warrant, stating there was "a risk of flight."
The police plan to investigate the details of Choi's crime.
At the same time, they are also reviewing whether to disclose his personal information. According to the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Specific Violent Crimes, if there is sufficient evidence to believe that a suspect of a specific violent crime, committed with cruel means and causing serious harm, has committed the crime, their face, name, age, and other information can be disclosed.
The police also plan to consider conducting a psychopathy diagnosis test (PCL-R) on Choi.
Choi is accused of wildly wielding a weapon at citizens on the 1st and 2nd floors of the AK Plaza department store in Seohyeon-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, at around 5:59 p.m. on the 3rd. As a result, nine citizens were injured, eight of whom sustained serious injuries.
Just before the stabbing rampage, Choi drove a Morning passenger car, rushed onto the sidewalk from the road leading to the 2nd floor of the department store, hitting pedestrians, then got out of the vehicle and entered the department store to commit additional crimes. Five people were injured in the vehicle ramming incident, four seriously, and one received only emergency treatment at the scene.

Earlier, the police applied charges including attempted murder against Choi and requested an arrest warrant at around 9 p.m. the previous day, and the prosecution also filed for an arrest warrant with the court about three hours later.
