Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam is actively conducting water spraying operations to prepare for damage and safety accidents caused by urban heat island effects and tropical nights as the discomfort index rises due to the heatwave.
From the end of July to the end of August, when heatwave warnings are issued and daytime temperatures exceed 33 degrees Celsius, five water spraying trucks owned by each district office (Environmental Sanitation Division) will be mobilized to strengthen heatwave response.
