"Female Players Must Wear Skirts"… Badminton Federation Deletes Rule Amid Human Rights Commission Investigation
The Korea Corporate Badminton Federation, which had established a regulation requiring female athletes to wear skirts during competitions, deleted the regulation during the investigation process by the National Human Rights Commission of Korea (NHRCK).
On the 3rd, the NHRCK announced that the Korea Corporate Badminton Federation, the respondent organization, deleted the regulation stating "female athletes must wear skirts," resolving the complaint case during the investigation.
According to the NHRCK, the federation, while hosting the league, included in the participation guidelines that female athletes must wear sleeveless tops and skirts during competitions. Originally, there was no regulation requiring female athletes to wear sleeveless tops and skirts, but the regulation was newly established when the tournament was scheduled to be broadcast on television.
