GH to Conduct 'Detailed Inspections' on 6 Complexes Applying Flat Slab Structures Completed Within 5 Years
Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) will conduct a thorough safety inspection on six complexes completed within the last five years in relation to the controversy over poor construction of buildings applying flat slab structures in underground parking lots. Previously, a full inspection of four apartment complexes currently under construction revealed no structural issues.
On the 2nd, GH announced plans to promptly carry out non-destructive testing, rebar detection, and other inspections through specialized safety inspection agencies for six complexes completed within the last five years in the province.
GH also reported that after jointly reviewing design documents and inspecting construction conditions with supervisors and structural experts for the four sites currently under construction, no structural problems were found. The inspections were conducted together with the 'GH SOS Quality Inspection Team,' composed of experts from academia, public sectors, and private sectors.
