Food Poisoning Beware! ... Gumi City Launches Emergency Response Team Activities
Group Catering Facility Preventive Inspection, Special Check on Delivery and Seasonal Food Restaurants
Gumi City in Gyeongbuk has urged special attention to food hygiene management and is implementing food poisoning prevention measures as the risk of bacterial food poisoning increases due to hot summer weather and heavy rainfall.
Forty percent of food poisoning cases occur in the summer, and the hot weather and heavy rainfall raise temperature and humidity levels, creating an environment conducive to the proliferation of food poisoning bacteria, thereby increasing the risk of food poisoning.
The city has formed an emergency food poisoning response team and established a system for continuous reception and dissemination to focus all efforts on managing the safety of group food poisoning incidents.
For publicity, the city is displaying food poisoning prevention images on electronic billboards and providing preventive text message services to large restaurants. It also plans to conduct special promotions and inspections targeting delivery and seasonal food-handling restaurants.
Additionally, food poisoning prevention diagnostic consulting and text message services will be provided to group catering facilities with a high likelihood of occurrence.
