Yuhan-Kimberly Publishes 'Sustainability Report' Detailing ESG Management Efforts
Consistently Published Since First Report in 2006
Including Surveys Such as Double Materiality Assessment Introduction
Yuhan-Kimberly has released its sustainability report for this year.
Yuhan-Kimberly announced on the 2nd that it has published the ‘2023 Sustainability Report,’ which details its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management efforts.
This year’s report, the first since changes to the global sustainability reporting guideline GRI standards, disclosed data through the introduction of a double materiality assessment evaluating two dimensions: social and environmental impacts by issue, and financial impacts. It also selected the top 10 material issues through stakeholder surveys and executive evaluations.
The stakeholder survey conducted earlier this year by Yuhan-Kimberly added issues such as biodiversity and forest protection, and energy management efficiency. These were newly identified items emerging in recent global disclosures or evaluations. Additionally, a total of 6,478 stakeholders participated in the survey incorporating the double materiality assessment concept. Through this, responsible sourcing and supply chain risks, packaging and plastics, sustainable growth strategies, and customer value innovation were selected as material issues.
Alongside this, the report includes the process, achievements, and significance of the Mongol Yuhan-Kimberly Forest, which marks its 20th anniversary this year.
Jin Jae-seung, CEO of Yuhan-Kimberly, stated in the report, “Based on cooperation with stakeholders, we have practiced various ESG management efforts aimed at the global environment and public interest, including the ‘Our Rivers Green and Blue Campaign.’ We will seek and utilize opportunities for innovation in areas that enhance the company’s sustainability and competitiveness together, and realize the vision of ‘We act for life, health, and the global environment.’”
