On the 2nd, LG Uplus announced the launch of the antenna-detachable Wi-Fi 6 router ‘U+ Giga Wi-Fi 6 (GAPD-7500R)’ with significantly enhanced practicality and convenience. Wi-Fi 6 is the latest wireless network standard established by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2019. LG Uplus plans to review the official launch within the second half of the year after confirming customer needs through pilot operation of the U+ Giga Wi-Fi 6.
When the existing integrated router is attached to the back of the TV, Wi-Fi signal loss due to TV signal interference often causes wireless internet disconnection or speed degradation in rooms far from the living room. The newly introduced router is characterized by a design that allows the main body and antenna to be separated, unlike the existing integrated products. It provides data transmission efficiency equivalent to that of integrated products without damaging indoor interior design.
LG Uplus decided to develop an antenna-detachable Wi-Fi and has been conducting product development, performance verification, and improvement work since the second half of last year in a ‘customer environment test room’ that simulates the home Wi-Fi service environment. As a result of continuously advancing the technology for six months, it can now provide wireless internet service at a level equal to or higher than that of integrated products. Additionally, to eliminate the inconvenience of manually entering the Wi-Fi name and password during initial Wi-Fi connection, LG Uplus attached a QR code on the top of this product to allow easy automatic connection to Wi-Fi via mobile phones.
