'Gyeonggi-do Where Work Feels Rewarding'... Implementation of Basic Plan Supporting Work-Life Balance
Gyeonggi Province is implementing support policies focused on working residents and small and medium-sized enterprises, including work-life balance consulting and expanding leisure activity programs for residents to promote work-life balance.
On the 2nd, Gyeonggi Province announced that it has established and will implement a basic plan to support workers' work-life balance reflecting these contents.
The newly implemented basic plan to support workers' work-life balance in Gyeonggi Province was established for the first time since the enactment of the "Ordinance on Supporting Work-Life Balance in Gyeonggi Province" in November 2020. To this end, Gyeonggi Province conducted related research last year and completed the establishment of the basic plan this year.
From this year until 2027, Gyeonggi Province has set policy goals for the next five years, including ▲improving organizational culture in workplaces ▲supporting harmonious lives of working residents ▲creating a social environment to expand work-life balance ▲building a foundation for promoting work-life balance policies, and will pursue various policies accordingly.
First, to improve organizational culture and support living areas, Gyeonggi Province will promote support policies related to childcare, such as expanding male participation in childcare and increasing workplace daycare centers, along with supporting workers' personal lives, especially leisure activities. To this end, it will continuously expand support such as activity funds for non-regular worker clubs by region and vacation expenses for vulnerable workers.
Additionally, to enhance workers' work-life balance, the province will introduce flexible working systems and strengthen autonomy in using vacation and leave systems. Furthermore, education to improve managers' awareness will be conducted to ensure early establishment of these systems.
Gyeonggi Province will also conduct work-life balance contest projects at the regional level to spread awareness of work-life balance throughout the social environment, and will promote expansion of workplace daycare centers, consultation and advisory services on work-life balance systems, and education and programs for work-life balance according to life cycles.
Moreover, the province will organize regional work-life balance councils, prepare laws using the concept of work-life balance, and conduct surveys on the demand for work-life balance policies.
