International Proficiency Program in Food Microbiology Field 'Satisfaction'
The Ulsan City Health and Environment Research Institute has been recognized for its global-level analytical capabilities in the field of food microbiology.
The Ulsan Health and Environment Research Institute announced on the 2nd that it participated in the internationally accredited proficiency testing program (FAPAS, Food Analysis Performance Assessment Scheme) organized by the UK's Food and Environment Research Agency (FERA) from May to July and received a "Satisfactory" rating in two categories within the food microbiology field.
The internationally accredited proficiency testing program is one of the most prestigious programs that evaluate the accuracy and reliability of tests in the fields of food (microbiology and chemistry), water, and environment.
The institute participated in two categories within the food microbiology field: coliform bacteria, which are hygiene indicator bacteria, and Listeria monocytogenes, a food poisoning bacterium, receiving a "Satisfactory" rating in both.
