A Drunk Man in His 40s Caught Driving 6km Wrong Way on Highway
A man in his 40s driving under the influence in the wrong direction on the highway was caught by the police.
According to the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency Highway Patrol Unit 5th Precinct on the 31st, a report was received the previous day at 4:42 a.m. that a passenger car was driving in the wrong direction on the Suncheon-Wanju Highway heading toward Suncheon in Suncheon-si, Jeonnam.
The police found the wrong-way vehicle near the Taebong Tunnel in Suncheon-si and stopped it on the shoulder nine minutes after the report.
According to the police investigation, the driver, Mr. A in his 40s, was confirmed to be intoxicated with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.115%, which is above the license cancellation limit.
Mr. A, who was intoxicated, made a U-turn on the highway toward Wanju and drove about 6 km in the wrong direction.
No traffic accidents occurred due to the wrong-way driving.
