Haman-gun Hosts the 35th "Open School Where Hope Grows" Program
For Students with Disabilities During Summer Vacation
Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced that it will operate the "35th Hope Growing Open School" for four weeks from the 31st to August 25th at the former Haman University to provide care for school-age students with disabilities during the summer vacation.
The Hope Growing Open School is being held for the 35th time this year, hosted by Haman-gun and the Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education, and organized by the Gyeongnam Parents of Disabled Persons Association Haman Branch. During the operation period, university students from related departments (such as social welfare and speech therapy) will participate together to conduct various experiences and lectures.

View original imageAt the opening ceremony, over 20 members including Jeong Jae-sook, president of the Haman-gun Women's Association Council, volunteered to provide meals with love to about 50 students, volunteers, and officials. During the operation period, various institutions and organizations will support the welfare improvement of students with disabilities.
Heo Seok-ju, president of the Gyeongnam Parents of Disabled Persons Association Haman Branch, said, "We will operate the program solidly so that children with disabilities can grow well as members of society one by one through customized education on various experiences and daily activities during the vacation."
In response, a county official said, "The county will continue to pay attention so that students with disabilities can have a safe and exciting summer vacation."
