Gwangyang Jeoneo Festival Held from August 25 to 27

Mangdeok Mujeopseom Area, Savory Jeoneo, Providing Visual Attractions

Jinwol-myeon, Gwangyang-si, Jeollanam-do announced that the 22nd Gwangyang Jeoneo Festival will be held for three days from August 25 to 27 at the Dalbitnaru Mangdeok Mujeopseom Square.

In particular, this festival will introduce various new programs such as the Famous Site Exploration Stamp Event and the Dalbitnaru Poetry Friend (Si-u) Jeong Byeong-wook Poetry Writing Contest, which embraces Yun Dong-ju, focusing on programs that tourists can participate in, providing more attractions for visitors.

▲ On the first day of the festival, August 25, there will be a poetry contest, an impromptu stage for tourists, and the preliminary round of the Jeoneo Song Festival. ▲ On the second day, August 26, starting with the Youth Happiness ‘樂’ Festival, the popular Jeoneo catching experience, a demonstration of Jeoneo catching songs designated as Jeollanam-do Intangible Cultural Property No. 57, a performance by the Jinwol Nongak Group, the finals of the Gwangyang Jeoneo Song Festival, and a congratulatory performance by invited singer Jeong Dong-won will take place.

▲ On the last day, August 27, the festival will conclude with a Ssireum (Korean wrestling) competition, a saxophone performance, another Jeoneo catching experience, 70s and 90s folk music, a bubble show, a performance by the Forever Wind Orchestra, congratulatory performances by invited singers (Seo Gabi, Mokbi, etc.), and a fireworks show.

Additionally, side events such as grilled Jeoneo tasting experiences, air bounce activities for children, and bare-handed Jeoneo catching are prepared as experiential programs for the whole family to enjoy together.

Mangdeok Port, where the Jeoneo Festival is held, is a 5-minute drive from Gwangyang Jinwol IC and is easily accessible via the National Road No. 2 alternative bypass.
