Changwon Special City, "Create Memories at Gwangam Beach"
Cultural Experience Events by Day, Illuminated Street Walks by Night
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam is operating free water play facilities at Gwangam Beach and hosting various weekend cultural events for tourists visiting the beach to celebrate its opening.
Gwangam Beach opened on July 1 and will operate until August 20. Additionally, during the vacation season, an air pool and air slide, which families can use for free, will be available in front of the outdoor performance hall at Gwangam Beach from July 26 to August 20.
To ensure the safety of participants, guidelines will be installed on weekends and public holidays when large crowds are expected to maintain appropriate numbers, and safety personnel will be deployed.
Furthermore, on the first weekend of August, from the 5th to the 6th, various experiential events such as flipper running, watermelon eating contests, ice melting races, and water balloon catching will be held on the sandy beach of Gwangam Beach. It is expected that residents, citizens, and external tourists visiting the beach will have an enjoyable time.
Kim Jongpil, Director of the Marine, Port, and Fisheries Bureau, said, “We hope that families will participate together in various programs at Gwangam Beach, the only beach in Changwon Special City, and create special memories this summer.”
