Realmeter "President Yoon's Approval Rating Rises 0.7%p to 37.3% After 4 Weeks"
Democratic Party Support Rises 0.1%p to 44.3%
People Power Party Support Falls 0.7%p to 36.3%
President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating for his administration rebounded after four weeks. In party support, the Democratic Party of Korea was found to be ahead of the People Power Party beyond the margin of error.
According to a regular public opinion poll released on the 31st by polling agency Realmeter (conducted via ARS automated response from June 24 to 28, surveying 2,517 adults aged 18 and over nationwide at the request of Media Tribune), President Yoon's approval rating rose by 0.7 percentage points from the previous week to 37.3%. Negative evaluations fell by 0.4 percentage points to 59.5%.
After hitting 42.0% in the fifth week of June, President Yoon's approval rating had been on a continuous decline but has now successfully rebounded. Regionally, notable increases were seen in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Incheon and Gyeonggi (up 4.2 percentage points, from 32.3% to 36.5%) and Seoul itself (up 2.3 percentage points, from 37.3% to 39.6%). Conversely, approval ratings declined in Daegu and Gyeongbuk (down 8.0 percentage points, from 56.1% to 48.1%) and Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (down 3.4 percentage points, from 43.1% to 39.7%).
In a party support survey conducted by Realmeter at the request of Media Tribune from June 27 to 28, targeting 1,003 adults aged 18 and over nationwide, the Democratic Party's support rose by 0.1 percentage points to 44.3% compared to two weeks ago. The People Power Party dropped by 0.7 percentage points to 36.3%, while the Justice Party increased by 1.7 percentage points to 3.6%. The gap between the Democratic Party and the People Power Party widened from 7.2 percentage points two weeks ago to 8.0 percentage points.
The Democratic Party's support notably increased in Seoul (up 7.6 percentage points, from 41.9% to 49.5%). Support rose among those in their 50s (up 5.1 percentage points, from 50.9% to 56.0%) and 30s (up 3.7 percentage points, from 43.1% to 46.8%), but declined among those in their 20s (down 5.6 percentage points, from 45.7% to 40.1%) and those aged 70 and above (down 3.2 percentage points, from 27.0% to 23.8%).
The People Power Party saw a significant drop in support in Seoul (down 9.5 percentage points, from 43.2% to 33.7%), but support increased in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (up 5.6 percentage points, from 39.2% to 44.8%). Support declined among those aged 70 and above (down 8.8 percentage points, from 55.7% to 46.9%) and those in their 50s (down 4.9 percentage points, from 33.1% to 28.2%), but rose among those in their 20s (up 4.8 percentage points, from 31.1% to 35.9%) and 60s (up 4.7 percentage points, from 40.0% to 44.7%).
