Magnitude 3.5 Earthquake North of Jangsu-gun, Jeonbuk... "No Damage Reports Yet" (Comprehensive)
A magnitude 3.5 earthquake occurred 17km north of Jangsu-gun, Jeollabuk-do on the 29th.
The Korea Meteorological Administration announced that at 7:07:59 PM on the same day, a magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck 17km north of Jangsu-gun, Jeollabuk-do. The epicenter's depth was 6km. The instrumental intensity measuring the shaking was recorded as a maximum of 5 in Jeollabuk, 3 in Gyeongnam, Chungnam, and Chungbuk, and 2 in Gyeongbuk, Gwangju, Daejeon, and Jeonnam. An intensity of 5 means almost everyone feels it, dishes and windows may break, and cracks can appear on plaster walls.
Initially, the earthquake magnitude was identified as 4.1, prompting emergency disaster messages to be sent nationwide. However, after further analysis, the magnitude was revised to 3.5.
So far, no casualties or damage to facilities have been reported due to this earthquake. Although many earthquake detection reports were received by 119, all were about "feeling the shaking" and were not reports of damage.
