Dongdaemun-gu, 'Customized Job Support Project' Manifesto Grand Prize Winner
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 28th that it won the Grand Prize in the "Job Creation and Employment Improvement" category at the 13th National Basic Local Government Heads Manifesto Best Practice Competition held for basic local government heads nationwide.
Dongdaemun-gu received high praise for actively promoting the generation-specific customized job support project "Dongdaemun Naeil Jobgo (Job go)" targeting youth, women, and middle-aged groups, thereby establishing a dense social job safety net.
The competition, hosted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, is held annually in years without local elections, bringing together excellent cases of pledges and policies from mayors, county governors, and district heads nationwide to share solutions to regional problems and future values.
This year's competition, under the slogan "Practical Action Models and Policy Alternatives in the Pandemic and New Normal Era," solicited excellent pledge cases across seven categories. Among 155 local governments that passed the first document screening, 92 local governments with submitted cases received awards.
