'Suspect Package' Contained No Hazardous Materials... Police Continue Investigation into Brushing Scam
It has been finally confirmed that no harmful hazardous substances to the human body were detected in suspicious overseas mail recently delivered nationwide.
According to the National Police Agency on the 28th, the Agency for Defense Development recently concluded that there were no hazardous substances in the unknown samples from the mail. This test is conducted to determine whether substances with unclear components are harmful to the human body, and the police are also planning to complete the investigation into any links to terrorism.
Previously, the Agency for Defense Development confirmed through chemical, biological, and radiological tests that there were no hazardous substances in the mail, but due to some recipients reporting symptoms such as vomiting and dizziness, additional testing of unknown samples was conducted.
However, the police have determined that this mail is a 'Brushing Scam,' where unsolicited items are sent to random people to manipulate product reviews, and are examining whether charges such as unauthorized collection of personal information can be applied. The police believe that most of this mail was sent from China, passed through Taiwan, and then entered the country, and have requested investigative cooperation from Chinese public security authorities.
