Jeju Fire Department Holds Review Meeting on Firefighting Activities for Electrical Material Store Fire
Jeju Fire Station (Chief Yang In-seok) announced on the 27th that it held a fire activity review meeting regarding the recent fire at an electrical materials store in Naedo-dong, with about 50 participants including controllers and on-site personnel in the main conference room.

This fire activity review meeting is held within 10 days from the date of the fire at the fire station that has jurisdiction over the fire location. Attendees include those who participated in the firefighting activities, public officials responsible for prevention-related affairs, and persons designated as necessary by the controller.
The fire at the electrical materials store located in Naedo-dong, Jeju City, which occurred around 8 a.m. on the 18th, involved about 240 personnel including firefighters and 46 pieces of equipment deployed to suppress the fire.
The fire was completely extinguished in about 9 hours, causing property damage worth over 500 million won due to the destruction of two warehouses and electrical and interior materials.
This review meeting was organized to thoroughly analyze and review the cause of the fire, damage situation, and firefighting activities after the fire, with the attendance of Chief Yang In-seok and executives and on-site personnel from each department, to utilize the findings as materials for fire prevention, suppression, and rescue activities and to prepare thoroughly for similar fires in the future.
The meeting agenda included reports on the general status of the fire building, initial fire occurrence situation, evacuation and safety measures, review of on-site activities by dispatch teams, collection of opinions on problems and improvement measures in suppression activities, free discussion, and evaluation.
Chief Yang In-seok stated, “We will actively reflect the improvement measures derived from this fire activity review meeting to enhance disaster response capabilities and do our best to ensure that rapid and efficient firefighting activities can be carried out in the event of similar fires.”
