Gubokgyu, Hwasun County Governor, Hustles to Secure National Funds During Visit to the National Assembly
Meeting with Budget and Accounts Committee Chair Seo Samsuk and Others to Actively Request Support for Local Issues Projects
On the 26th, Gubokgyu, the governor of Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do, visited the National Assembly and explained local pending projects for securing the 2024 national budget to Seo Samsuk, chairman of the Budget and Accounts Committee, and Yang Hyangja, a member of the Budget Committee, actively requesting government support, the county announced on the 27th.
In particular, he proposed the inclusion of national funds for projects addressing local issues such as ▲the establishment of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Advanced Medical Complex (project cost undecided), ▲the revitalization of the tourism industry in the closed mine areas of Hwasun-gun (19.8 billion KRW), ▲installation of a resource recovery center (5 billion KRW), ▲the Jeokbyeok immersive digital heritage project (14.5 billion KRW), ▲the creation of a memorial park for fallen coal industry workers (3 billion KRW), ▲four natural disaster risk improvement district maintenance projects (36.2 billion KRW), and ▲three water and sewage pipeline maintenance projects (44.7 billion KRW).

Governor Gubokgyu said, “As it is a difficult time to secure national funds due to government revenue decline and restrained growth in fiscal expenditure, we plan to frequently visit central government ministries and the National Assembly to secure national funds for our county’s major pending projects such as the establishment of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Advanced Medical Complex, and we will do our best until the government budget is finalized.”
