Korea MSD Appoints Albert Kim as New CEO
Korea MSD, the Korean branch of MSD (Merck & Co., USA), announced on the 25th that Albert Kim will be appointed as the new CEO starting from the 1st of next month.
CEO Kim is recognized as a pharmaceutical and bio expert with over 25 years of experience in global and Korean pharmaceutical and bio companies, accumulating extensive local and global market experience including Korea. It is explained that he has overseen various countries and regions such as the United States, EU, Canada, Brazil, Switzerland, Sweden, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Taiwan.
Kim, who majored in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Science at McMaster University in Canada, earned an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He also gained comprehensive experience in pharmaceutical and vaccine sectors at Novartis, where he served as the youngest Chief Financial Officer (CFO). From 2011, he led the establishment and business growth of Korea Menarini, the Korean branch of the Italian pharmaceutical company Menarini, as its first CEO, and in 2016, he served as the regional head for Singapore. Since 2020, he has been an executive in the commercial strategy team at Samsung Bioepis, where he was responsible for global business strategy and operations, leading the launch and growth of key product portfolios in the US and European markets.
