Gochang-gun Selected as an 'Excellent Institution' in Local Price Stability Management Evaluation

Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk Province announced on the 25th that it was selected as an excellent institution in the ‘2023 First Half Local Price Stability Management Performance Evaluation’ conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

Accordingly, it also secured a special grant of 100 million KRW as a financial incentive.

This evaluation comprehensively assessed 243 local governments nationwide from November last year to April this year, based on seven areas and 13 indicators, including whether local public utility fees were frozen, support for Good Price Businesses, and efforts to stabilize personal service fees, through quantitative evaluation (70%) and qualitative evaluation (30%).

The county decided to freeze the water supply fees, which were scheduled to increase in the first half of this year, to stabilize public utility fees directly related to residents' lives.

It also received high marks for proactive administration in various fields to stabilize local prices, such as providing incentives to Good Price Businesses and discount sales of the Gochang Love Gift Certificates to revitalize the local economy.

County Governor Shim Deok-seop said, “Being selected as an excellent institution for price stability management is a result made possible not only by the administration but also by the active cooperation of Gochang residents, which makes me even happier. We will continue to do our best to ease the economic burden on residents amid high inflation and to stabilize livelihoods and revitalize the local economy.”
