SparkLabs Invests in EqualTable, Operator of 'Naeil-ui Coffee'
Carbon Reduction Process
Subscription-Based Coffee Bean Delivery Service
Startup accelerator SparkLabs (CEO Ho-min Kim) announced on the 25th that it has invested in EqualTable (CEO Jun-seok Moon), which operates the carbon reduction coffee brand 'Naeil-ui Coffee'. The investment was made together with the Band Foundation and Youth Impact.
Naeil-ui Coffee, a subscription service, provides coffee beans from carbon-neutral certified farms and eco-friendly roasting processes developed in-house, along with data on carbon reduction contributions, to its clients. Currently, SKT, Samsung Electronics Creative Development Center, and Krafton are using the service.
Companies subscribing to Naeil-ui Coffee can reduce carbon emissions equivalent to 30 paper cups per cup of coffee simply by changing the coffee beans. It is characterized by enabling employees to practice ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management in their daily lives.
With this investment, Naeil-ui Coffee will accelerate its entry into the business-to-consumer (B2C) market. As consumer awareness of coffee's carbon emissions increases, Naeil-ui Coffee plans to expand its subscription model and introduce various business models.
Ho-min Kim, CEO of SparkLabs, said, "Koreans rank second in coffee consumption worldwide, and environmentally conscious consumption in response to climate change is becoming a trend. We expect EqualTable's carbon reduction coffee solution to be competitive not only domestically but also in the global market."
