Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) has allocated a total of 32.2 billion KRW in funds, including disaster and emergency contingency funds and disaster management funds, to prepare for disaster and emergency situations such as heavy summer rains.
This funding was secured through the main budget and supplementary budgets to establish measures for preventing and preparing for natural disasters such as heavy rain, infectious diseases, and fires.
This year, the district can immediately use ▲ 22.3 billion KRW from disaster and emergency contingency funds ▲ 7.8 billion KRW from general contingency funds ▲ 2.1 billion KRW from disaster management funds in case of disaster situations.
In particular, to respond to rapidly changing climate conditions, the district allocated disaster and emergency contingency funds separately from the general contingency funds, accounting for 2.4% of the total budget, and plans to continue expanding these funds for natural disaster prevention and recovery.
Additionally, Dongjak-gu secured a total of 8.83 billion KRW from 23 external funding sources, including special disaster grants and special adjustment grants related to disasters.
Among these, external funds secured for summer disaster response include ▲ 2.7 billion KRW for flood prevention projects such as sewer dredging and drainage system improvements ▲ 400 million KRW for heatwave countermeasure projects such as shade installation.
Going forward, the district plans to make every effort to secure external resources for proactive responses to seasonal disasters such as floods, heatwaves, and heavy snow.
