Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it will operate free water playgrounds for residents to enjoy from the 25th of this month through August 31, totaling 38 days.
Eunpyeong-gu has created fun-filled spaces by incorporating themes reflecting the characteristics of each park and unique designs tailored to children's perspectives.
The water playgrounds opening this season include four locations: ▲ Maebawi Children's Park in Eungam 2-dong, themed around delivering happiness through hawks ▲ Daejo Children's Park in Daejo-dong, themed as the Jujube Tree Village water playground ▲ Gusan-dong Village Yard in Gusan-dong, shaped like a turtle ▲ and Eunpyeong Peace Park in Nokbeon-dong, themed around water.
The playgrounds operate every Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00 PM to 4:45 PM, following a schedule of 45 minutes of water play starting at the top of each hour, followed by a 15-minute rest. They are closed every Monday for facility inspection and cleaning. Operations may be adjusted flexibly depending on weather conditions such as rain and on-site circumstances.
Since there is no designated parking space at the water playgrounds, the use of public transportation is recommended. Pets and cooking activities are prohibited. Additionally, children under the age of 7 are only allowed entry when accompanied by a guardian to prevent safety accidents.
Besides the water play facilities, rest areas such as pergolas and shade shelters have been installed for user convenience, and two safety managers are permanently assigned to prepare for any emergencies. The water supply is replaced daily, and water quality tests are conducted once every two weeks to ensure a safe and pleasant water playground environment.
