Ourhome Accepts Pre-Order for Meal Boxes from Participants
Street Toast Set Ranks 1st
Tteokbokki, Ham Kimchi Fried Rice, Chicken Mayo Cupbap Also Rank High
Ourhome announced on the 24th that K-food accounted for 37% of the total menu orders after receiving pre-orders for meal box menus from participants of the '2023 Saemangeum 25th World Scout Jamboree (Saemangeum Jamboree)' over 50 days starting June 1.
Among overseas countries, the order volume of K-food was highest in the UK, Sweden, Japan, and Germany, and especially in Macau, more than half (53.2%) of the total menu orders were K-food.
Among K-food items, the 'Street Toast Set' menu ranked first, accounting for 11.3% of the total menu orders. Other top-ranked items included Tteokbokki, Ham Kimchi Fried Rice, Chicken Mayo Cupbap, Budae Jjigae, and New Year's Rice Cake Soup. Ourhome plans to offer not only authentic Korean cuisine but also unique menus such as street food, sauna sets, and grandmother sets, reflecting the global popularity of K-food.
The vegan meal order rate was significantly higher among European countries. Among German participants, 44% ordered vegan meals, and among Swiss participants, 35% did so. Finland (23%) and the Netherlands (20%) also showed high proportions. In Indonesia and Bangladesh, where there is a large Muslim population, over 90% of participants ordered halal meals, and countries like Australia (24%), the United States (18%), and the UK (16%) also had many halal meal orders. Accordingly, Ourhome is preparing a variety of vegan K-food menus such as tofu bibimbap, vegan tteokbokki, New Year's rice cake soup, and vegan seaweed soup. They also plan to provide halal bibimbap, halal tteokbokki, and halal beef seaweed soup using halal-certified K-food ingredients.
This Saemangeum Jamboree meal box is produced in the form of a meal kit that contains the main ingredients and Ourhome's cooking sauces together, unlike previous jamboree events. Any scout can enjoy a wonderful meal by following the Ourhome 'Cookbook' included in the meal box. The cookbook is provided in three languages: Korean, English, and French.
Ourhome will provide customized menus according to body types and alternative foods for those with allergies, offering separate diets. They have also secured emergency food such as ready-to-eat meals, energy bars, snacks, and beverages to provide to scouts in case of evacuation due to natural disasters like heavy rain.
