Sempio Conducts Online Cooking Class with Elementary School Students and Their Families
'Joyful Cooking Day (Jeul-yoil)' Launched
10 Pilot Locations This Second Half, Sequential Expansion from Next Year
Sempio announced on the 24th that it will conduct an online cooking class for children called "Jeulyoil (Joyful Cooking Day)" in collaboration with elementary schools in various regions.
Jeulyoil is a project planned by Sempio to help children emotionally recover from the fatigue caused by COVID-19 and to promote the formation of healthy lifestyle habits. It uses Saemine Kitchen products that minimize the use of knives and fire, allowing even children who are inexperienced in cooking to actively participate in the entire cooking process, while significantly reducing complicated cooking steps and cooking time.
On the 21st, about 100 students and their families participated in Jeulyoil online via Zoom together with Seokseong Elementary School in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. One family represented the group and cooked with a Sempio flavor researcher at the Sempio Our Flavor Space. The menu for the day included fresh kimchi (geotjeori), stir-fried anchovies, and steamed egg rice.
The families who participated in the class personally experienced and enjoyed the fact that anyone can cook easily and deliciously, and that they could spend happy time while cooking. Cheon Byeong-hee, principal of Seokseong Elementary School in Yongin, said, "Many teachers in the educational field are making various efforts to help strengthen children's social and emotional competencies," and added, "We will actively support and promote Sempio's joyful program."
