Interest in soccer has been growing stronger recently with the transfer of Korean players to European leagues and the news of popular overseas clubs visiting Korea. In particular, Man City, which achieved the 'Treble' (winning the English Premier League, the English FA Cup, and the continental UEFA Champions League all in one season) in the 2022-2023 season, is scheduled to visit Korea for a friendly match on the 30th, becoming a hot topic among soccer fans.
From the 28th to the 30th, Lotte Department Store will host a giant Man City pop-up store in collaboration with the global sports brand Puma at the Atrium Plaza on the first floor of Lotte World Mall in Jamsil, welcoming the team and fans. The pop-up, named 'Puma City' by combining Puma and Man City, will sell official Man City uniforms and offer various content for soccer fans, including meetings with Man City players.
The entire pop-up space will be designed like a dedicated Man City soccer stadium, showcasing the official Man City uniforms. A special font jersey, produced exclusively for this pop-up in limited quantities, features a unique typeface reflecting Korea's identity on the newly released official uniform for the 2023-2024 season. The players will also wear this special font jersey during the friendly match on the 30th.
Alongside the Treble-winning trophies achieved by Man City this season, uniforms from 2019 onwards, officially sponsored by Puma, will be exhibited. An event will also be held where customers who participate in various soccer games and complete missions will receive goods such as keyrings and fans engraved with the Man City logo.
On the 29th, fans will have the opportunity to meet Man City players in person. Puma ambassador players from Man City, including Jack Grealish, Ederson Moraes, Manuel Akanji, Raia Alexandri, and Oscar Bob, will visit the pop-up site and join 100 customers. The main events include a 'talk show' where fans can ask players questions and a 'ball trapping demonstration' performed by the players themselves. Invited customers will be selected through a comment event held on Puma’s official Instagram starting that day. On the 30th, famous former Man City players such as Lescott and Shaun Wright-Phillips are also scheduled to visit the pop-up.
