Error in Taegukgi Sakwhae Pattern on Scarf
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) is drawing attention for the Taegeukgi pattern on the Korean cheering muffler sold to commemorate the 2023 Australia-New Zealand Women's World Cup. The four trigrams (sagwae) on the Taegeukgi are incorrectly printed, causing football fans to frown.
Recently, FIFA produced various souvenirs such as T-shirts, hats, and mufflers featuring the flags of participating countries to mark the opening of the Women's World Cup. The price of the products sold at the official store is 20 euros (about 28,700 won).

Among them, as of the 23rd, the four trigrams inside the Taegeukgi on the Korean cheering muffler sold at the FIFA store caught attention for being depicted only as the 'Geon' trigram. While foreigners might perceive the four trigrams on the Taegeukgi as complicated and think they were simplified, the muffler is large in size, and considering that the cheering muffler sold during the Qatar World Cup last December had the trigrams correctly made, it is hard to believe that only this muffler’s trigrams were simplified.
Also, the Taegeukgi printed on the short-sleeved T-shirts, hoodies, hats, and soccer balls sold together were all properly made with the correct Taegeuk pattern and four trigrams. Only the muffler had the incorrect Taegeukgi attached.
