Byun Sang-il 9-dan, a professional Go player representing Korea, experienced his first world championship victory by winning the second match of the 14th Chunlan Cup World Go Championship.
On the 19th, the Korea Baduk Association announced, "In the second match (final match) of the best-of-three final of the 14th Chunlan Cup World Go Championship, Byun Sang-il 9-dan defeated China's Li Xuanhao 9-dan by resignation after 212 moves, securing his first major world championship title with an overall score of 2-0."
