Goheung-gun Accepts Additional Applications for Private Electric Vehicle Distribution

Support up to 15.1 million KRW per unit until budget is exhausted

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced on the 19th that it will accept additional applications for the private distribution project of electric passenger cars until the budget is exhausted to respond to climate change and achieve carbon neutrality.

The county plans to distribute a total of 110 electric passenger cars with a budget of about 1.5 billion KRW this year, having supported 48 cars so far, and the additional quantity to be accepted is about 60 cars.

The support amount is up to 15.1 million KRW per general electric passenger car, and 6.5 million KRW is provided as a fixed amount for ultra-small electric passenger cars.

In addition, when purchasing an electric taxi or when a person in the lower-income bracket purchases one, electric taxis receive an additional 2 million KRW in national subsidies from the vehicle support unit price, and those in the lower-income bracket receive an additional 10% of the national subsidy amount.

Applicants must be residents aged 18 or older who have continuously resided in Gohung-gun for more than 3 months as of the application receipt date, including citizens, companies, and corporations. Priority support will be given to vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities, national merit recipients, basic livelihood security recipients, single-parent families, multi-child families, first-time vehicle buyers, and those purchasing vehicles with high fine dust improvement effects.

A county official stated that charging facilities are being expanded to 51 public facilities (76 units) through private investment attraction to make electric vehicle charging easy anywhere in Gohung, and said, "We hope for the active interest and participation of citizens in the additional distribution project to achieve carbon neutrality."
