Due to widespread casualties and property damage caused by heavy rain nationwide, and with disaster recovery still underway, all citizen participation events such as the opening and closing ceremonies, performances, and the county residents' singing contest will be fully canceled to share the pain of the victims and bereaved families affected by the flood. Only the agricultural specialty product sales booths and experience events will be operated.
Park Mun-jae, chairman of the Muan County Festival Promotion Committee, said, "This decision was made after an emergency meeting of the festival promotion committee on the 19th to discuss whether to hold the festival," adding, "We ask for the understanding of county residents and tourists, considering this unavoidable decision in response to the disaster situation."
