A man in his 60s jaywalking in heavy rain was fatally struck by two vehicles
On the 18th at around 7:25 PM, a man in his 60s who was jaywalking in Seokjeon-dong, Masanhwoin-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, was hit and killed by two passenger cars in succession.
According to the Masan Dongbu Police Station on the 19th, at the time of the accident, a passenger car traveling from Seokjeon-dong Seomasan Interchange (IC) toward Seokjeon Intersection struck Mr. A, who was jaywalking.
Due to the impact of the accident, Mr. A fell across the center line to the opposite side and was hit once again by an oncoming passenger car.
Mr. A was transported to the hospital immediately after the accident but ultimately passed away.
The police stated that the breathalyzer tests for the drivers of the first and second collisions, Mr. B and Mr. C, both in their 30s, showed no signs of intoxication.
The drivers reportedly testified that heavy rain at the scene at the time of the accident prevented them from properly seeing Mr. A.

The police have booked the drivers on charges of violating the Special Act on the Treatment of Traffic Accidents and plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident based on vehicle black box footage and other evidence.
