KT Selects ICT Startups with Daegu Changgyeong Center... Promoting Commercialization
KT announced on the 19th that it held a business agreement ceremony with the startups that were finally selected in the ‘Daegu Scale-up Open Innovation Program’ jointly conducted with the Daegu Center for Creative Economy and Innovation and Daegu Metropolitan City.
In April, KT signed a business agreement with the Daegu Center for Creative Economy and Innovation to revitalize the open innovation ecosystem. KT and the Daegu Center conducted a public contest targeting promising startups with solutions that can collaborate with KT, such as artificial intelligence information and communication technology (ICT) convergence services, and after screening, selected two outstanding startups.
The selected companies are ‘Pion Corporation’, which operates VCAT, an AI-based automatic video production solution, and ‘G-Bike’, which operates GCOO, a personal mobility (PM) sharing service platform.
Pion Corporation plans to provide the VCAT video production function to KT’s integrated advertising platform service Baro Advertising and develop exclusive templates for the media owned by KT Baro Advertising, enabling anyone to easily create advertising video materials. G-Bike will collaborate on KT-type software (SW) development by providing the newly launched electric bicycle service last month. Through this, they plan to further improve user convenience while securing new customer segments.
The finally selected startups will be provided with support programs such as technology verification (POC), growth support funds, KT commercialization promotion, and mentoring.
