Two Changwon Hyundai BNG Steel Employees Trapped Under Steel Plate, One Dies
At around 2:57 PM on the 18th, two employees were trapped under a steel plate at the Hyundai BNG Steel rolling mill in the Changwon National Industrial Complex, Seongsan-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, resulting in one death and one injury.
According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the labor union, the accident occurred when a table weighing approximately 300 to 400 kg toppled over while they were inspecting and maintaining equipment used to thin steel plates.
Both individuals were transported to the hospital, but one passed away around 4:10 PM, while the other is receiving treatment for fractures and bruises.
The company employs about 480 regular workers and falls under the scope of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.

Labor inspectors from the Employment and Labor Office are investigating the cause of the accident at the site, and the police are examining whether there was negligence during work, violations of the Industrial Safety and Health Act, and compliance with safety equipment regulations for the injured.
