Gwangju Buk-gu to Operate Healing Busking Day Until November
On the 17th, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it will operate the '2023 Buk-gu Healing Busking Day' until November to expand the base of local culture and arts.
This event was prepared to provide performance opportunities for talented artists in the region and to offer empathy and healing to residents through various cultural and artistic performances.
Busking will take place simultaneously at Cheomdan Citizens' Forest and Duam Sports Park every Friday from 6 PM for one hour, featuring a variety of cultural and artistic performances such as popular songs, Western music, instrumental performances, and Korean traditional music on a rotating basis each week.
Accordingly, last month, Buk-gu selected 33 teams to participate in street performances through an open recruitment targeting cultural artists and groups active in Gwangju.
Furthermore, to allow more residents to enjoy cultural and artistic performances, optimal locations were selected considering factors such as floating population and performance facilities.
Buk-gu plans to revitalize Healing Busking Day by expanding performance venues and create an open street performance culture where anyone can participate and enjoy.
