Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it is recruiting ‘One○More (MORE) Community Youth Leaders’ until July 27 to revitalize youth communities.
The ‘One○More (MORE) Community Support Program’ is a new project conducted at the Seoul Youth Center Yeongdeungpo Orang. The program aims to form youth communities led by youth leaders who share common interests and want to meet once more, expanding these communities into harmonious circular collectives.
Participants in the program will have opportunities to alleviate social disconnection and psychological isolation through self-help group activities centered on youth leaders.
The types of meetings are divided into three categories based on interest topics: ▲‘Relationship Building Type’ for fostering friendship and forming networks through activities like sports and hobbies, ▲‘Study Type’ for sharing knowledge and information and enhancing capabilities through topics like employment and financial management, and ▲‘Project Type’ for setting joint goals and conducting side projects such as video production and writing.
The recruitment target is youth aged 19 to 39, and the activity period is from August to November. Any youth who wishes to operate a community meeting within the region can select their desired topic and apply to become a youth leader.
The district will recruit up to about 20 youth leaders and then conduct facilitation training. Through evaluations such as participation attitude and presentation of meeting activity plans, 5 youth leaders will be selected. The final selected youth leaders will recruit about 8 members each to participate in their communities. A total of 5 communities with approximately 40 youth will be active, and each community will receive up to 480,000 KRW in operating expenses.
In addition to each community’s activities, a ‘Community Exchange Meeting’ involving all communities will also be held. Youth will share their community activities and build networking opportunities through three sessions of community exchange meetings.
Youth wishing to participate can download the application form from the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office website under Our District News, fill it out, and submit it via email to the person in charge by July 27.
The final youth leaders will be announced individually on August 7. For more details, inquiries can be made to the Job Policy Division.
