Heavy Rain Warnings for Parts of Gangwon, Chungcheong, Southern Regions, and Jeju
On Sunday the 16th, the entire country will be cloudy with rain. While heavy and substantial rainfall is expected mainly in the southern regions, some areas such as northern parts of the Seoul metropolitan area and northern Gangwon Province will experience a temporary lull in the rain.
The expected rainfall over the two days starting from this day is 50 to 150 mm in the Chungcheong region, southern regions, and mountainous areas of Jeju Island, and over 200 mm in the Jeolla and Gyeongnam regions. Southern Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous areas of southern Gangwon, northern and eastern Jeju, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo will receive 30 to 80 mm, while Seoul, Incheon, northern Gyeonggi, Gangwon (excluding southern inland and mountainous areas), western and southern Jeju, and the five islands in the West Sea will see 5 to 60 mm.
As of 8 a.m., heavy rain warnings have been issued for southern inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, Chungcheong region, southern regions, and Jeju Island, with very heavy rain of 20 to 40 mm per hour falling mainly along the coasts of Jeonnam and Gyeongnam.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasts that the entire country will remain cloudy with rain until the 18th. The KMA emphasized the need to be cautious of very heavy and substantial rainfall, especially in the Chungcheong and Gyeongbuk regions.
The morning low temperatures on this day are forecast to be between 19.8 and 22.7 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between 26.4 and 30.4 degrees Celsius.

Sea waves are expected to be 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the East Sea coastal waters, 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the West Sea coastal waters, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the South Sea coastal waters. In the offshore waters (about 200 meters from the coastline), wave heights are expected to be 1.0 to 2.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the South Sea.
