He added, "Just as Korean battery and material component companies have established the largest battery ecosystem in Europe in Poland, cooperation should be expanded to advanced industries such as aerospace, smart factories, and eco-friendly energy, as well as defense and infrastructure sectors."
He also expressed expectations for expanded trade between the two countries. President Yoon noted, "Since 2016, trade has increased by double digits annually, reaching a record high of $9 billion last year," and forecasted, "If this trend continues, it is expected to exceed $30 billion by 2030."
He particularly emphasized the importance of the battery industry. Korean battery material and component companies have built a battery ecosystem in Poland with the largest production capacity in Europe, making Poland a European battery production hub. President Yoon added, "This successful cooperation case should be expanded across advanced industries such as aerospace, smart factories, and eco-friendly energy, and cooperation in defense and infrastructure sectors should be further strengthened."
With the joint attendance of President Yoon and Polish President Andrzej Duda, tangible achievements such as the signing of MOUs were revealed. Future-oriented cooperative efforts between companies and institutions of both countries continued, resulting in a total of 33 MOUs: 11 in advanced industries including batteries and future vehicles, 13 in energy sectors such as nuclear power, hydrogen, and eco-friendly energy, and 9 in service sectors including finance and tourism. The government announced plans to actively support the early realization of concrete results from these MOUs.
