"Turning Imagination into Reality"... Busan Office of Education Operates Gifted Education Camp for Middle School Students
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will operate the "Middle School Gifted Education Candidates Imagination Design Camp" for three days starting from the 17th at the Korea Science Academy of KAIST to celebrate the summer vacation.
This camp is hosted by the Busan Office of Education and organized by the Gifted Education Promotion Institute. It is a gifted education program designed to develop students' artificial intelligence literacy and creative problem-solving skills.
The theme of the camp is "Universal AI Traffic Design (AI-based Traffic Problem Solving Project)," and 100 gifted education students in the second grade of middle school are expected to participate.
Participating students will attend special lectures by experts in "autonomous vehicles" and the "AI field." Then, they will engage in 20 hours of project activities including ▲identifying traffic problems in daily life ▲selecting topics related to traffic problems using artificial intelligence ▲producing outputs through maker activities ▲creating and presenting storylines.

Han Jonghwan, Director of the Digital Future Education Division at the Busan Office of Education, said, "Students will participate in project activities to solve local community traffic problems using artificial intelligence during this camp," adding, "This process will greatly help students develop information processing skills and collaborative communication abilities."
